2018 Mitsubishi Shogun Sport UK prices and specs announced

The Mitsubishi Shogun Sport finally returns to the UK for 2018 and will cost from £36,905 when it officially goes on sale at Mitsubishi’s dealers in the spring.

After years of asking why there was no Mitsubishi Shogun Sport available in the UK, Mitsubishi UK has finally got their act together and decided the UK will get the Sport after all.

Finally announced as a UK model in November, the Shogun Sport will now officially go on sale in the UK in the spring, although it’s going to cost a bit more than we expected.

We figured Mitsubishi would deliver an entry-level Sport from under £30k, but the starting point is actually £36,905 as Mitsubishi deliver only ‘posh’ versions of the Sport for the UK Market.

Available initially in just two trim levels – Shogun Sport 3 and Sport 4 – both will come with the 2.4 litre turbodiesel producing 178bhp and 317lb/ft of torque drive to all four wheels by Mitsubishi’s Super Select II all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

Both models get Hill Descent, Trailer Start Assist and a dedicated off-road mode, with the Sport 3 coming with leather, electric front seats, power mirrors, all LED lights, Climate, rear-view camera and parking sensors, Keyless , auto lights and wipers and privacy glass.

The Shogun Sport 4 – which costs from £38,905 – adds in heated seats, Premium Sound, headlight washers and a suite of safety and driver assistance stuff including Adaptive Cruise, Forward Collision, Blind Spot, 360 Camera and Mis-Acceleration Mitigation.
