We’ve got the full price and model guide for the 2010 Hyundai ix35. Hyundai UK haven’t got it together yet, so this is from France. But it gives you a good idea.
We’ve been expecting Hyundai in the UK to release prices and specs for the new Hyundai ix35 for a few weeks now. We had a fair bit of information on the UK Hyundai ix35 back in September at Frankfurt, but for whatever reason we haven’t had price and model detail. So as Hyundai in Europe have got their act together and sent out details of what’s on offer in the ix35 range – and for how much – we thought that you might like a glimpse of what we’re likely to get.
It would be wrong to use the French prices directly converted in to GBP to get the UK prices for the ix35, but it’s not going to be far off. French VAT is a bit more than UK VAT and it’s certainly possible that the UK spec will be slightly different to that in France.
There are only two diesels on offer at launch in France. The UK was actually promised one diesel and two petrols when Hyundai gave us ix35 details in September. So we’ll have to wait a few more days to see what’s what in the UK. But for those desperate for an idea you’re not going to be a million miles out.
At launch there will only be two diesel engines on offer in France – the 136hp and the 184hp – with the range-topping 184 only available as the iX35-2.0 CRDi 184 4WD with Premium Pack at €33,990(£29,892). The Premium Pack is top of a the option packs in a range that includes Climate Pack (entry) and Comfort Pack.
The entry-level Climate pack gets AirCon, hill start/descent, ESP, electric windows and mirrors, cruise control, audio system CD / MP3 with USB, 16 “alloys, and a rear spoiler. Move up to the Comfort Pack and you can add 17” alloys, roof bars, auto lights, folding mirrors, parking sensors, half leather, dual zone Climate, privacy glass and Bluetooth. Top of the tree Premium Pack adds full leather, panoramic roof and SatNav with touch screen. Far from shoddy specs.
The entry-level iX35 2.0 CRDi 136 Climate Pack comes in at €26.990 (£23,736) but you need to remember that this is only the entry level for now. Later in 2010 Hyundai will be adding a 1.7 litre diesel and 1.6 litre direct injection petrol with the ISG and Stop & Start. And we’ll see entry-level prices dropping down perhaps as low as £16k.
As we said at the beginning, this is just to give you a pretty good idea of what to expect in terms of price and spec in the UK.
And we should have the UK info in the next few days. We hope.

In the Uk the price for a Santa Fe Premium is £ 25,360 on the road and this includes a 5 year warranty however in France the same car appears to be called the Santa Fe executive and sells for € 39,500 at the current rate that is £ 35,100 with a 3 year warranty, how can they justify the difference?.
Kind regards
John

those prices seem 30% higher than was previously estimated. That makes it quite pricey and not a particular challenge to the Qash or Kuga after all. Hope the UK version is 184bhp and a lot less than above?!

Yes, we were quite surprised at how strong the prices were. I think you can reasonably expect the ix35 to be less than the straight conversion price to pounds suggest. Ford’s top of the tree diesel Kuga – the 2.0 TDCi Titanium 5dr – is probably comparable to the Hyundai iX35-2.0 CRDi 136 4WD Premium Pack which costs £28,748 in France. That’s over £3k more than the Kuga’s UK list price of £25,584. The French list price of the is Kuga is €30,550 (according to our latest price list for France – which may be a bit out of date), which converts to a shade under £27k. So the difference is halved, but the ix35 still comes out at more than the comparable Kuga.
But as we said, we only published the French specs and prices to give people a guide. Currency fluctuations in the last year make it hard to second guess UK car prices based on Euro prices. And we’re sure Hyundai in the UK will be releasing UK prices for the ix35 any day now.
