The MINI Paceman – the MINI Countryman Coupe – will be available in the UK from £18,970 with a choice of petrol or diesel engines, FWD or 4WD.

After a debut in production guise at last year’s Paris Motor Show, the MINI Paceman is now hitting the Uk with a choice of petrol or diesel engines, manual or auto gearbox and front wheel drive or four wheel drive.
Petrol engine choices for the Paceman are the 1.6 litre Cooper Paceman with 122bhp, 0-62mph in 10.4 seconds and 47.1mpg and the Cooper S Paceman with the same 1.6 litre but with 184bhp, 0-62mph in 7.5 seconds and 46.3mpg. There’s also the 218bhp MINI John Cooper Works Paceman that can hit 62mph in a pretty swift 6.9 seconds.
Diesel lovers can choose from the Cooper D Paceman with 112bhp, 0-62mph in 10.8 seconds and 64.2mpg or the (probably best bet) Cooper SD Paceman with 143bhp, 0-62mph in 9.2 seconds and 64.1mpg.
All MINI Pacemans come with a six speed manual ‘box or the option of a six-speed auto with Steptronic and you can have 4WD – or ALL4 in MINI-speak – on the Cooper D, Cooper SD and Cooper S.
The MINI Paceman gets similar specs to the comparable Countryman with standard kit like AirCon, power mirrors, sports seats, DSC, Dynamic Traction Control with EDLC (on the MINI Cooper S Paceman, Cooper SD Paceman and Cooper D Paceman ALL4) and 16″ or 17″ alloys as standard (18″ and 18″ are options).
The MINI Paceman is now on sale in the UK from £18,970.

The Paceman may be another niche product from Mini but its a lot cheaper than the Evoque and offers a similar style statement. It deserves to succeed.
