Volvo has revealed new R-Design versions of the V60, S60 and XC60 with R-Design body, lowered suspension and the option of Polestar Performance.
With Volvo rolling out a facelift for most of its range at Geneva earlier this month, it’s now the turn of the appealing R-Design versions to make an appearance with new versions of the Volvo V60, S60 and XC60 R-Design arriving at the New York Auto Show. All three R-Design models get a new nose with a frameless Tech Matte Black grill, a silk metal R-Design logo, DRL lights on the corners, redesigned front wheel arches, rear diffuser and R-design tailpipes.
Inside, the R-Design Volvos get sports seats covered in Nubuck textile and perforated leather, Adaptive Digital Display that offers three different configurations – Elegance, Eco and Performance – contrast stitching, stainless steel tread plates and R-Design logos.
You can have the R-Design option with any of Volvo’s existing engine options, from the D2 to the T6, and if you opt for the T6 you can also opt for a Polestar Performance Pack that delivers 329bhp, good enough for a 5.9 second 0-062mph in the S60, 6.0s in the V60 and 6.9s in the XC60.

Under the skin, the new R-Design Volvos have 15mm lower suspension and 15 per cent stiffer springs with monotube dampers at the back on the V60 and S60, stiffer bushings, strut brace and re-tuned anti-roll bars for a firmer and more balanced drive.
Volvo expect up to 30 per cent of UK buyers will opt for the R-design versions. We’re surprised it’s not more.

Dave Price says
Count me in! I could live with a V60 T6 with the R Design pack and Polestar treatment. I’d also get let out at junctions which is more than you can say if you buy an Audi or BMW.

I hope my best is still to come and I find the R-Design Volvos appealing!!
