Skoda Citigo Monte Carlo launches - costs from £10,590

A Monte Carlo version of the Skoda Citigo has been launched. Based on the Citigo SE it gets the usual Monte Carlo titivations. Costs from £10,590.

The Skoda Citigo may be a small city runaround, but that’s not stopping Skoda tagging the Monte Carlo badge on to give it a bit more appeal.

The Skoda Citigo Monte Carlo has been launched with the usual array of tweaks and titivations Skoda likes to use on its Monte Carlo models, but no extra power.

That means a trim level based on the mid-range Citigo SE spec with black highlights for the exterior on the alloys, front and rear spoiler, rear diffuser, grill and door mirrors and a lowering of the suspension for a more dynamic appearance.

Titivation continues on the inside of the Monte Carlo with a sports steering wheel, black and red upholstery and Skoda’s Portable Infotainment offering SatNav, Bluetooth, media player and trip data.

Engine choice is Hobson’s with just the 1.0 litre 3-cylinder petrol on offer, but it’s a good little engine, perfect for blatting round town, and even though it only offers 59bhp that’s enough to easily keep up with traffic and return an official average economy of 62mpg.

You may only have one engine choice in the Skoda Citigo Monte Carlo, but you can have it with 3 doors (£10,590) or 5 doors (£10,940
