Alfa Romeo 4C video plays the sexy card

Yes, this is an advert for the Alfa Romeo 4C

A new promotional video for the Alfa Romeo 4C in the US aims to portray the 4C as the sexiest car you can buy – and does a fine job.

There was a time when a sexy woman was used to sell everything from soap powder to shoes, and when no self-respecting advert for a car could manage without at least one curvaceous woman.

But time have changed and advertisers are wary of offending female sensibilities, but that hasn’t stopped Fiat using the glorious Catrinel Menghia to promote the 500 Abarth, and nor has it stopped Alfa Romeo from doing something much in the same vein with the 4C in the US.

The new 4C video (below) intersperses footage of the 4C caressing roads and showing its beautiful form with images of a beautiful women getting the same treatment from a man we assume is also driving the 4C.

We’re not entirely sure whether Alfa want us to think that the 4C is like a beautiful woman, or that having a 4C will bag you a beautiful woman.

But whichever message Alfa is trying to relay, we can’t argue that the form and appeal of both the woman and the 4C are hugely appealing.

And we also can’t help thinking the advert will do Alfa 4C sales in the US no harm whatsoever.
