The McLaren 675LT – that’s ‘LT’ for Long Tail – joins the 650S (and 625C) as part of what McLaren are now calling the McLaren Sports Series. Debuts Geneva 2015.

The McLaren 675LT teased as part of McLaren Super Series
Last week we reported that McLaren were planning to reveal a new car after they posted a single camouflaged image, and the rumour was it would be the McLaren 675LT. And it is.
The ‘LT’ bit of the name harks back to McLaren’s iconic Long Tail FR GTR which dominated Le Mans in the 1990s and got dubbed ‘Long Tail’ because of its extended rear end.
That extended rear end looks to be part of the package for the 675LT – along with other aerodynamic tweaks – with Mclaren saying the LT will be the lightest, quickest and purset in the range, a range that includes the 650S and Asia-only 625C which has now been named the Mclaren Super Series.
Power will come from a more potent version of of the 650S’s V8 with 666bhp (675PS, hence the name) which should, coupled with the weight loss, make the 675LT quicker and more nimble than the already impressive 650S.
McLaren are promising more detail as we head towards a Geneva Motor Show reveal in March. For now, you’ve got the teaser photo (above) and the camouflaged photo (below) of the 675LT to whet your appetite.
