Last year, Aston Martin revealed the first non-concept, actual production Lagonda in a generation, and by November it was revealed as the Lagonda Taraf – a limited run of just 100 cars aimed at Middle East customers.
Despite making the new Lagonda available in the UK, Europe and South Africa – in left and right hand drive – there seems to be no suggestion of changing the Arabic name (Taraf means ‘Ultimate Luxury’ in Arabic), but rather than being a full production model the Taraf will be limited to just 200 units.
Andy Palmer said:
Opening up the Lagonda Taraf to an increased number of customers around the world was a high priority for me as soon as I joined Aston Martin late last year.
I wanted to be able to offer this exceptional saloon to the potential owners from around the globe who have been enquiring about it, and I’m very happy that we have been able to expand the Lagonda proposition.

With styling that echoes a modern interpretation of the last proper Lagonda – the 1976 William Towns car – a stretched wheelbase to accommodate two rear passengers in quilted leather luxury, lots of technology and AML’s ubiquitous 6.0 litre V12 under the bonnet, the Lagonda Taraf is an appealing option.
But with just an extra 100 cars to fulfil demand in Europa and South Africa as well as the UK, they’re still going to be a rare beast, at a rare price – probably starting at £500k before ‘Q’ gets involved.
If you want one, you’d better be on the phone to Aston Martin’s VIP sales asap.
