The McLaren 675LT Spider – the open-top take on the hardcore 675LT Coupe – has now sold out, with all 500 finding a home in just a few weeks.
When McLaren revealed the 675LT (Long Tail) back in February, you couldn’t buy one because McLaren had sold them all even before the reveal. But the arrival of the open-top version – the McLaren 675LT Spider – earlier this month meant well-heeled McLaren lovers had another bite at the cherry, with 500 Spiders being built. But that opportunity has now gone too.
Despite a list price of £285,540 – and a price well over £300k when you start ticking boxes on McLaren’s 675LT Spider configurator – the Spider has sold out, with all 500 cars finding homes just a few weeks after being announced.
McLaren won’t start delivery of the Spider to customers until summer 2016, but when buyers do get their cars they are in for a treat.
With a folding roof to let in fresh air, less weight than the 650S and aerodynamic tweaks, the 675LT Spider can get to 62mph in just 2.9 seconds and top 200mph, and yet can still be trundled around like an everyday driver when you’re in the mood for posing, rather than blatting.
So now, with the 675LT Spider all sold out – and the last McLaren P1 built – your only option if you want a new McLaren, apart from paying a premium for a P1 or LT, is McLaren’s ‘regular’ range of 540C, 570S or 650S.
And just to rub salt in the wound for those who want a Spider, but left it too late, McLaren has released a new video (below) of the 675LT Spider on track and road.
