New Alipna B7 to debut at Geneva
The 2016 Alpina B7 – Alpina’s take on the new BMW 7 Series – will debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
There may be no prospect of a BMW M7 ever arriving, but if you want your new 7 Series with a chunk more get up and go there is another option – the 2016/17 Alpina B7.BMW Blog are reporting that Alpina are preparing the latest B7 – based on BMW’s recently revealed new 7 Series – for a debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March, and it promises to be a 7 Series that can take the fight to the AMG S-Class Mercedes.
The new 750i manages to deliver 445bhp from its 4.4 litre V8, but it looks like Alpina are going to wring something around 600bhp from the same engine in the B7, which means 0-62mph should dip under the 4.0 second mark – quicker than both the S65 and S63.
The new B7 will also be offered with either rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive, and in standard or long wheelbase versions, and come complete with Alpina’s subtle body upgrades, including redesigned front and rear bumpers, a subtle bootlid spoiler, oval tailpipes and a set of Alpina alloys.
With a debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March, the Alpina B7 will then be shown at the New York Motor Show in April and expected to go on sale in Europe and the US soon after. And at prices the wrong side of £100,000.
