The 2016 Jaguar XE (pictured) helped Jaguar to more than DOUBLE sales in August
Jaguar Land Rover sales were up by 26 per cent in August 2016 to 36,926, with Jaguar’s sales rising by a massive 104 per cent.
Last month Jaguar Land Rover reported sales for July 2016 were up by 34 per cent, and that Jaguar sales – long the weaker part of the Jaguar Land Rover brand – had increased by a huge 94 per cent. But August’s sales – certainly for Jaguar – are even more impressive, with a jump of 104 per cent over the same period last year, shifting 10,868 cars for the best sales month in Jaguar’s history.
JLR aren’t breaking down sales for Jaguar by model, but are happy to declare that the F-Pace and XE are the sales drivers (no surprise there), and that Jaguar performed strongly in all regions, but especially in North America where Jaguar sales in 2016 are up 72 per cent on the same period in 2015.
Although the headlines for JLR are the dramatic rise in Jaguar sales, the bedrock of Land Rover sales appears to continue unabated, with Land Rover sales up by 9 per cent in August and by 14 per cent year on year.
The big seller was the Land Rover Discovery Sport, but even the Range Rover Evoque Convertible seems to be finding homes, with 1,200 already sold in the few months since it went on sale.
