The 2017 Audi Q5 goes on sale in the UK, with prices from £37,170 for the TDI SE rising to £41,040 for the TFSI S tronic. First deliveries in April.
A new Audi Q5 arrived at the Paris Motor Show a few months ago, looking just like a scaled-down Q7 but with a new MLB platform underneath cutting weight and promising a more agile car.But if you want to rush out and buy a new Q5 now, you’re going to have to be happy with a 2.0 litre; at launch, the only options are the 2.0 litre TFSI with 248bhp or the 2.0 TDI with 187bhp. Audi tell us the 3.0 litre TDI with 282bhp is ‘coming at a later date’.
Audi say the specs for the new Q5 are more comprehensive, with even the entry-level SE spec (you can also have Sport and S Line spec) getting Smartphone Interface, Audi Parking System, powered tailgate, Audi Drive Select, heated front seats, climate and pre-sense city collision prevention.
Under the skin is a new five-link suspension and new electromechanical steering, with the Q5 sitting on 18″ alloys in SE and Sport spec and 19″ alloys in S Line.
Inside, you can have Audi’s virtual cockpit with its 12.3″ screen replacing instruments, and the top infotainment gets an 8.3″ display with MMI touchpad on the rotary controller. But they’ll cost you.
The 2017 Audi Q5 is now available to order at Audi’s UK dealers, with first customer cars due in April.
