Porsche Mission E four-door ELECTRIC supercar will get up to 670 BHP
The Porsche Mission E four-door electric supercar will come with up to 670bhp when it arrives in 2020, with two lower powered options too.
It’s two years since the Porsche Mission E arrived as a first look at a future four-door electric Porsche supercar, and although it’s another two years before we’ll see the production version it is stacking up to be a bit of a belter. The Mission E Concept came with 600bhp from its electric motors and the promise of a big range and fast charging, and as details have come to light in the intervening two years we can start to make sense of what will be on offer.
A more compact car than the Panamera – but still a four-seater – the Mission E looks set to cost around the same as the Panamera. But, just like the Panamera, there’s going to be more than one Mission E model.
Georg Kacher has been let loose in the Mission E Concept and is suitable impressed, but he’s also revealed there are going to be at least three versions of the Mission E when it launches.
The range-topping model will come with 670bhp, with 536bhp and 402bhp models sitting below it, all using a single motor on each axle, but the higher powered versions coming with a bigger rear axle motor.
All the versions will be four-wheel drive, although it seems Porsche may offer an entry-level rear-wheel drive model too.
Range is said to be 300 miles in the real world, and a recharge from high-powered charging points will take just 20 minutes for an 80 per cent charge.
And so much interest has been show in the Mission E, Porsche now reckon they’re going to have to build 30,000 a year to keep up with demand.
But with prices looking set to be similar to the Tesla Model S, it’s hard to believe they won’t sell a lot more.
