Audi Q3 Sportback
The Audi Q3 Sportback arrives as a new take on Audi’s Q3, delivering a more ‘lifestyle’ product to take on growing competition in the sector.
Yesterday we had the arrival of the new SQ7, at the end of last month the Q7 facelift arrived, and just before that the new Audi SQ8 was revealed. We even had news on a recall for the Audi e-tron electric SUV last month too.
So you won’t be surprised to learn that today’s Audi news is the arrival of, you’ve guessed it, a new Audi SUV – the Audi Q3 Sportback. Which you could have expected to be the Audi Q4, but no; that’s another Audi SUV on the way as a baby e-tron. Confused?
Clearly a vital cog in the fight for SUV domination in the ‘Premium’ sector, Audi has given the Q3 a Coupe roofline to take the fight to other ‘lifestyle’ SUVs proliferating from Mercedes and BMW..
The titivates to create the Q3 Sportback aren’t enormous, and it’s the roofline that makes the statement, and cuts headroom, but at least the boot’s the same size, and the interior’s much the same too, including Virtual Cockpit.
No shocks on the engine front either, as they’re the same as the Q3, but prices are likely to be a couple of grand more than the Q3. Coupe rooflines are just so expensive to produce.
