Audi A6 55 TFSI e quattro plug-in hybrid
Audi has announced prices and specifications for the A6 55 TFSI e quattro plug-in hybrid as they continue to roll-out their PHEVs.
It was back in February that Audi announced the arrival this year of a trio of plug-in hybrids to tempt buyers in to a bit of electrification, and to help their own average CO2 emissions. The models previewed then were the A6, A7, A8 and Q5 PHEVs, and Auid has already rolled out more details on the Q5 PHEV, and now its’ the turn of the A6 PHEV to deliver up its production details.
The clumsily-named Audi A6 55 TFSI e quattro plug-in hybrid gets pretty much the same powertrain as the Q5 PHEV, which means a 2.0 litre four-pot petrol engine mated to an electric motor for a combined output of 362bhp and 369lb/ft of torque, enough for a scoot to 62mph in 5.6 seconds and it’ll reach 83mph in EV power alone.
It won’t be in the real world, but Audi say the A6 PHEV is good for almost 32 miles on just the 14.1kWh battery and electric motor, which even if you discount that to closer to 20 miles in the real world, and you have a very light right foot, many could use it as an EV for commuting.
The Audi A6 55 TFSI e quattro is going to be available in S Line and Black Styling and, in Germany, it starts at €68,850. No prices yet for the UK.
