Aston Martin and Mercedes performance AMG division have confirmed their collaboration is now working on new V8 engines for AML.

Aston Martin and AMG working on new V8 engines
The collaboration deal between Aston Martin and AMG has moved to another level with the announcement that the two companies are working on a new V8 engine for Aston Martin.
A statement from AML and AMG said they are planning to expand their agreement to work on sharing electronic components and will “investigate additional areas of operation”.
Those ‘additional areas’ no doubt refer to the sharing of Mercedes AMG platforms with Aston Martin which will allow Aston Marting to move on again with the Lagonda SUV and perhaps provide a basis for a completely new platform for AML to underpin their GT cars.
It’s hard to see a downside to this agreement, especially as it offers the promise of Aston Martin’s future cars offering not just the beauty for which they are cherished, but real technical ability and great performance too.
