Aston Martin V12 Vantage V600 – it’s a new old limited edition Vantage
The Aston Martin V12 Vantage V600 is a limited run of seven Coupe and seven Convertible V12 Vantage models as the ‘old’ Vantage makes way for the new.
Production of the new Aston Martin Vantage has already begun, and it looks to be a bit of a cracker. But if the new Vantage doesn’t float your boat with its 4.0 litre AMG V8, then Aston Martin has a treat for you; you can now pay more for one of a limited run of the old V12 Vantage – the Aston Martin V12 Vantage V600 – than you would for the new Vantage. Makes perfect sense.Aston Martin’s Q Division is building seven roadsters and seven coupe versions of the Vantage V600 – a name AML last used on a 1990s monster Vantage – all of which come with a bit more power from the venerable V12 Vantage – 592bhp from the 5.9 litre V12 – and you can only have it with a manual gearbox. Which is fitting.
To be a ‘Special Edition’ and command a silly price, which this is, and will, you need expensive looking differentiation to add to that little bit of extra power on offer, so there’s a ‘big gob’ grille, new carbon fibre diffuser, new vented bonnet and new strakes, with an interior getting more expensive carbon fibre, lumps of aluminium and patterned leathers.
There’s no word on pricing for the Vantage 600, but it seems Aston want you to go and talk to them and tell them just how many expensive custom extras you want bolting on. But whatever you might add, expect the starting point for the Vantage 600 to be considerably more than the £140-150k the old Vantage V12 cost.
