Aston Martin Vanquish S Volante joins the Vanquish S Coupe
The Aston Martin Vanquish S Volante has been revealed, joining the Vanquish S Coupe as a last hurrah to Aston’s naturally aspirated V12.
Aston Martin is moving in to a new age with the arrival of the DB11, a car that actually seems like it may be a properly appealing car to drive, and not just an okay car with stunning looks. But it’s going to be a little while before that new AMG thread starts to weave itself fully in to Aston’s DNA, and Aston are still clinging to the old, naturally aspirated, V12 for the recently revealed Vanquish S as well as this, the new Aston Martin Vanquish S Volante.
The depths of a chilly January may not seem the best time to reveal a drop-top V12 Aston Martin, but by the time you’ve place your order and waited for delivery the sun should be shining.
And when you do get your Vanquish S Volante you’ll get a car which looks better than any other you can buy, as well as a V12 sound track that would make Oizys smile, as a last hurrah to the naturally-aspirated, Ford-derived V12 which has served Aston Martin well for almost a generation.
Here, in the Vanquish S Volante, it will deliver the same 595bhp as the Vanquish S Coupe, although the lack of a roof will make it shimmy a bit, and the RSJs keeping the back attached to the front will add a bit to the 0-62 mph.
How much is the Aston Martin Vanquish S Volante? Aston hasn’t said yet, but it’ll be more than the Vanquish S Coupe, so budget for about £15k the wrong side of £200k.
