Aston Martin Vulcan AMR Pro REVEALED
The Aston Martin Vulcan AMR Pro is revealed at the Goodwood Festival of Speed today as the range-topping model for Aston’s new AMR Division.
Two years ago at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Aston Martin Vulcan track-day monster got its dynamic debut as AML showcased their £1.8 million hypercar for well-heeled track day aficionados. Two years on, and the Aston Martin Vulcan AMR Pro is debuting at Goodwood today as an even more hardcore Vulcan, just in case owners thought the original Vulcan was a bit too tame.
A flagship for the new Aston Martin AMR Division, the Vulcan AMR Pro comes with shortened gear ratios and extra downforce from aerodynamic tweaks to offer what Aston call “intensified Acceleration”.
Those aerodynamic changes at the front include dive planes at each side to help stick the Vulcan down, louvered panels on the front wheel arches to reduce lift and vanes under the front splitter for better steering response.
There’s even more going on at the back, with a new dual plane wing with an upstand on the trailing edge to maximise downforce which, combined with the tweaks at the front, increase downforce pressure by a third over the standard Vulcan.
Aston Martin VP David King said:
Once we’d built and delivered all 24 Vulcans we started thinking about how to make it quicker. And so the Aston Martin Vulcan AMR Pro was born.
The shorter gearing makes for truly explosive acceleration between the corners, while the aero package’s increased downforce and improved balance gives our customers the all-important confidence to explore the extraordinary performance on offer.
Having already shelled out £1.8 million for a Vulcan, we doubt many of Aston’s customers will baulk at spending another chunk of money – at least six-figures, we’d imagine – to up their car to AMR Pro spec.
