BMW M4 GTS is the fastest BMW production car round the Nurburgring EVER
The new BMW M4 GTS – BMW’s ultimate M4 – has gone round the Nurburgring in a time of 7:27.88, making it the fastest production BMW ever.
Earlier this year, the BMW M4 GTS was revealed as an extreme take on BMW’s M4 – and with a fairly extreme price of £122k too – with just 700 being built and just 50 of those coming to the UK.On paper the M4 GTS looks impressive, with 493bhp coming from its straight six engine thanks to the help of water injection for the turbos, driven to the rear wheels through BMW’s seven-speed M DCT gearbox – a combination good for 0-62mph in 3.8 seconds – and with an extreme bodykit including an adjustable front splitter and rear wing. But it’s not just on paper the M4 GTS is impressive.
In fact, in the almost real world of the Nurburging, the M4 GTS has turned out to be the fastest production BMW ever, lapping the Green Hell in a time of 7:27.88, 24 seconds quicker than the already capable M4.
To give the time some perspective, the M4 GTS is as quick round the Nurburgring as the Ferrari 458 and McLaren MP-4 12C, and quicker than the Porsche Carrera GT and Pagani Zonda F. Which is mighty impressive.
Fortunately, BMW decided to film the entire lap, driven and narrated by BMW’s Joerg Weidinger, in ultra-HD so we can see exactly how he, and the M4 GTS, handled every one of the Nurburgring’s 73 corners.
Enjoy.
