The Citroen C4 Cactus Rip Curl Special Edition is a surfer-inspired Cactus complete with Grip Control. Costs from £18,480.
The Citroen C4 Cactus is an odd little car, but odd in a good way with its simple take on the practical and affordable. And its simplicity lends itself to painting a new canvas for the car with a special edition or three – step forward the new Citroen C4 Cactus Rip Curl.
Citroen has teamed up with Rip Curl (a famous surf brand) to create a Cactus that’s fit for the dudes to use to go surfing (or the hodads to pretend) with cosmetic titivations and some useful tech.
The useful tech comes in the shape of Citroen’s Grip Control – the first time it’s been fitted to the Cactus – which allows the driver to select different modes to cope with slippery surfaces; ideal for beaches or slippery beachside car parks.
To help the Grip Control do its stuff, Citroen has also wisely fitted the Rip Curl’s 17″ alloys with appropriate rubber – Goodyear 4 seasons Mud+Snow tyres.
The cosmetic stuff includes Rip Curl logos on the wings and rear quarter-lights (the Cactus’s back windows don’t open properly), white roof rails and door mirrors, and orange details inside.
Standard equipment includes rear parking sensors, reversing camera, Climate, auto lights and wipers, Sat Nav, Cruise and privacy glass. Engine options are either the PureTech 110 or the BlueHDi 100.
The Citroen C4 Cactus Rip Curl goes on sale at Citroen’s UKd ealers on 1 June, with the Puretech from £18,480 and the BlueHDi from £19,210.
