The 2nd episode of the new series of Fifth Gear is on tonight with Plato in the Pagani Huayra, Vicky B-H in the Bowler EXR & Tiff with the Audi R8 Spyder & Porsche 911 Cabriolet.
Tonight, Jason Plato gets the chance to wring out the Pagani Huayra. We know the man can drive, so we’re hoping that he’s going to do more than see if the Huayra can top 200mph in the hands of Fifth Gear – the only other cars to manage that feat so far have been the Noble M600 and Lamborghini Aventador. That would be impressive, but a proper wringing on road would be better.
As well as Jason in the Huayra, Vicky Butler Henderson gets to grips with the most bonkers of Land Rovers – the Bowler EXR – which weighs just 1800kg, is based on the Range Rover Sport and manages to deliver 550 horses through all four wheels and get to 62mph in 4.2 seconds – seemingly on any surface.
The head to head challenge this weeks sees Tiff Needell taking two German convertible supercars apart with a comparison between the Audi R8 Spyder and the new Porsche 911 Cabriolet. Which of the two Germans will get the nod from Tiff?
Finally, Jonny looks at three classic cars that could prove a sound investment for the future.
