Ford Focus RS Heritage Edition is the RS’s Swansong
The Ford Focus RS Heritage Edition arrives as a run of just 50 Focus RS as Focus RS production comes to an end in April 2018. Costs from £39,895.
It’s only two years since the Ford Focus RS went in to production, in the process almost re-writing what a Ford Performance hatch could do with its 345bhp, four-wheel drive and drift mode. But Ford are starting to wind down production of the RS, and it will stop being produced on 6 April 2018. So we get a run-out special RS – the Ford Focus RS Heritage Edition.
There will be just 50 of the RS Heritage Edition models coming to the UK, and they represent the final special edition RS – following on from the RS Red Edition and RS Edition – as Ford look to extract the final buyers for the RS.
The RS Heritage Edition comes with a Tief Orange paint job with grey brake callipers, black forged alloys and contrast black mirrors and rear spoiler.
Inside there’s apart leather Recaros, privacy glass, sunroof, parking sensors at the back, Cruise, heated steering wheel and power-fold door mirrors.
Just like the previous ‘Edition’ versions of the RS, the Heritage Edition comes with the Quaife limited slip diff, but it also gets a bit more power.
The Heritage Edition comes with the dealer fit FPM 375 Mountune upgrade which ups power from 345bhp to 370bhp and torque from 346lb/ft to 375lb/ft thanks to tweaks including a high-flow induction kit and uprated turbo recirculating valve.
Andy Barratt, Ford of Britain boss, said:
The RS brand is hugely important to Ford and is recognised across the globe, however it has a special place in the hearts of UK Ford fans. This latest model is the best RS we’ve ever produced, so it seems a fitting tribute as we approach its 50th anniversary.
The Focus RS Heritage Edition – which marks not just the end of Focus RS production, but also the 50th Anniversary of Ford RS – is now on sale at Ford’s RS dealers – with prices from £39,895.
