The 2012 Hyundai i30 has made its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show, and Hyundai has revealed details of the engine lineup.
We’ve had plenty of news on the 2012 Hyundai i30 in the last few weeks, but until now we’ve had no confirmation of what’s going to be on offer under the bonnet. But Hyundai has put that right now the new i30 has made its official debut at Frankfurt.
We also now know that – just like almost every new model launch – the 2012 i30 has grown. At 4300mm long, 1780mm wide and 1470mm high it’s around ten per cent bigger than the old i30, which should auger well for the i30’s cabin.
Engines on offer – and no, just as we’ve bemoaned before, there will be no performance option – are a choice of six engines ranging from 89bhp in the i30 1.4 litre diesel up to 133bhp in the 1.6 litre petrol, with the other engines – a 1.4 litre petrol and a 1.6 litre diesel filling in the gaps.
With stuff like Stop & Go, low rolling resistance tyres and alternator management the i30 Blue Drive option will also deliver an i30 with Co2 emissions below the magic 100g/km in the 126bhp 1.6 litre diesel, making the i30 a very sensible option for company car drivers.
Hyundai are targeting the fleet market in a big way with the new i30, and are planning on shifting a not insignificant 120,00 i30s a year in Europe with half of those going to the fleet sector.
And with more room, better economy and the option of a BIK, VED and congestion-charge busting option in the i30 Blue, there’s no reason to think their targets are unrealistic.
With a five year warranty with no mileage limit, roadside assistance and annual health checks. the i30 makes a very sensible proposition for Fleet Managers as well as canny private buyers.
Which all sounds like a bit of an advert for the new Hyundai i30. And for free.
