The Hyundai i30 Fastback N – Hyundai’s more stylish take on the i30 N – goes on sale in the UK on 21 January with prices starting from £29,995.
Hyundai probably changed the world’s perception of it more rapidly with the arrival of the very impressive i30 N than all the impressive progress they made in the decade before, delivering a truly great hot hatch which can stand shoulder to shoulder with product from stalwarts of the genre like Ford and VW.
Now we get the second i30 N act with the arrival of the i30 Fastback N as Hyundai offer the power and performance of the i30 N in a more stylish package.
Revealed in September as it raced from Rome to Paris (with a big caveat) the i30 Fastback N is now going on sale in the UK, and Hyundai has announced full UK price and specs.
Hyundai isn’t bothering delivering the UK the entry-level car with 248bhp, but will only be offering the more powerful 272bhp Performance Pack model which will cost from £29,995, just an extra £500 for the more stylish body.
Extra titivates for the Fastback N include 19″ alloys shod with Pirelli P-Zeros, electronic limited slip diff, bigger brakes, electronically controlled suspension, manual handbrake (oh, yes), torque vectoring and N Mode.
Ashley Andrew, Hyundai’s UK MD, said:
The i30 N Hatchback surprised many at its launch and has quickly gone on to become an established performer in the hot hatch sector. The i30 Fastback N will cater for those wanting hot hatch performance but with a more distinctive and elegant style.
The Hyundai i30 Fastback N goes on sale in the UK on January 21.
