The Hyundai Santa Fe Rockstar Moab Extreme Concept
The Hyundai Santa Fe Rockstar Moab Extreme Concept is a ‘Mad Max’ extreme off-roading concept created for the 2017 SEMA Show in Las Vegas this month.
The Hyundai Santa Fe is a very good, decent-sized, well-equipped family SUV. But it’s no off-roader. At least not until now. Now, Hyundai has created the Santa Fe Rockstar Moab Extreme Concept for this year’s SEMA Show in Las Vegas, and it’s an off-roader in the extreme.
The ‘Rockstar’ bit doesn’t refer to Hyundai’s target buyer (although this does not preview a production Santa Fe off-roader) but to a US drinks company, and the Moab bit refers to an extreme off-road area of Utah. The rest is self-explanatory.
Hyundai has fitted this Santa Fe with a Nitrous system to boost its power, R1 brakes, AEM intake, and King Coilovers as well as some thumping great wheels and tyres and a whole bank of lights at the front.
The paint job is a digital warp and it all looks very extreme, and about as far away from a Santa Fe as you could get. But then that’s the idea.
Hyundai say they haven’t actually taken this Santa Fe out to play at Moab yet, but they are promising they will and they’ll be delivering a video of its outing to show what it can do.
