New Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT Night revealed (pictured)
The Jeep Grand Cherokee is getting updated for 2016 as Jeep also reveal details of a new Grand Cherokee SRT Night limited edition.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee – Jeep’s very able off-roader aimed at Europe’s premium SUVs – is getting a ‘raft’ of enhancements to keep it appealing, as Jeep also reveals a new Grand Cherokee SRT Night and pricing for the 75th Anniversary Grand Cherokee revealed recently.
The latest Grand Cherokees will come with an enhanced stop-start and electric steering, giving a useful 14g/km reduction in emissions and corresponding improvement in economy to 40.4mpg on the diesel.
Other changes are the arrival of new colour options – Velvet Red, Redline and Ivory Tri-Coat – as well as acoustic glass to help with peace and quiet in the cabin.
Inside see a new gear shift (after the recent problems with stupid drivers), new centre stack with Sport and Stop-Start buttons.
The starting price for the latest Grand Cherokee starts at £45,050 for the CRD Limited rising to £52,550 for the 3.0 CRD Summit.
Jeep has also managed to come up with a price for the Grand Cherokee 75th Anniversary, which comes with a 3.0 litre V6 MultiJet 250hp petrol engine and titivations like a Recon Green paint job (other colours are available), Quadra-Lift air suspension and Adaptive Cruise, which will cost £50,550.
Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT Night
As well as the all round titivations and a price for the 75th Anniversary, Jeep has also revealed another limited edition – the Grand Cherokee SRT Night.
Just 30 SRT Night models are available from this month (July 2016) and comes with Matte Black on the lower grille mounts, B and C Pillars, side window surrounds, badging and ‘JEEP’ lettering.
Black Vapor 20″ alloys come as standard in satin black, and there’s plenty of black inside too with the leather seats in Black Laguna with accent stitching.
The SRT Night has Jeep’s 6.4 litre V8 with 468bhp, enough for 0-62mph in under five seconds, and gets Performance Pages on its 8.4″ UConnect touchscreen for added performance data and gauge readouts and new drive modes, and the SRT Night also has launch control and updated Selec-Trac modes of Auto, Sport, Tow, Track, and Snow.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee Night is now available at Jeeps’ UK dealers costing from £69,865.
