It seems Ferrari’s hypercar – the LaFerrari – is attracting premiums of £1 million as wealthy buyers desperately try to get hold of one of the 499 LaFerrari’s being built.

LaFerrari commanding £1 MILLION premium

Being at the top of the new owners list for a very desirable, and scarce, car can yield big benefits, and none more so recently than for Ferrari’s hypercar – the LaFerrari.
But it’s not just LaFerrari that’s commanding hefty premiums.
The McLaren P1 – perhaps LaFerrari’s closest rival – will cost you an extra £300k over list if you want to snap one up, and the Porsche 918 Spyder a still significant £200k premium.
Further down the list of desirable cars, the new Lamborghini Huracan is commanding a £30k premium, and even the relatively humble Porsche Macan will cost you £6k more than list price if you want one now instead of waiting anything up to eighteen months for Porsche to build you one.
Peter Brook, Oracle Finance MD, said:
We weren’t too surprised the new breed of hypercars were commanding premiums, but the Porsche has taken everyone by surprise. The speed of deliveries is slow which means buyers are prepared to pay over the odds to get into one now.
The premiums may be big, but there’s a pretty fair chance that buyers aren’t likely to come too unstuck in the short term even if they decide to sell on.
