Lamborghini are producing a limited edition Aventador – the LP720-4 50 Anniversario 50 – to celebrate their 50th Anniversary. Debuts at the Shanghai Motor Show.
We know that Lamborghini like a ‘Special Edition’ car, usually one that gets stripped down and emptied of comforts at a premium price. Like the LP 570-4 Superleggera. Either that, or it’s a titivation of an existing car that gets a completely bonkers price, like the Reventon or Veneno.
So, even though the Veneno was the Lamborghini 50th Anniversary car at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, it looks like Lamborghini is having a second ’50th Anniversary’ special up their sleeves – the Lamborghini Aventador LP720-4 50 Anniversario.
According to Carscoops, the Lamborghini Aventador LP720-4 50 Anniversario will debut this weekend at the Shanghai Motor Show as a limited run of just 100 cars to add an extra celebratory veneer to Lambo’s 50th year as a supercar maker.
The LP720-4 50 Anniversario comes in an eye-catching bright yellow – Giallo Maggio – with a black aerodynamic package to contrast that includes a new front apron, diffuser and skirts. The LP720-4 is said to get an extra 20PS (hence the ‘720-4’ moniker) and is good for 0-62mph in 2.9 seconds, the same as the LP700. Other highlights include a new set of black alloys and a yellow and black interior.
More details when Lamborghini make the LP720-4 official.
