The very last Lamborghini Gallardo – Lamborghini’s most successful model ever – has been built in Italy ahead of the arrival of the Cabrera.

Last Lamborghini Gallardo is built ahead of Cabrera debut
Lamborghini may have started out as a Tractor Manufacturer, but it’s been making stunning road cars for 50 years, and despite the Lamborghini Gallardo only arriving 10 years ago it has managed to sell enough to account for around half of all Lamborghinis ever made.
The Rosso Mars Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Spyder Performante is now off to join the collection of a wealthy car nut as the last ever Gallardo to be built, and Lamborghini are now heading swiftly towards the Gallardo’s replacement – expected to be the Lamborghini Cabrera.
The Lamborghin Cabrera is expected to get a heavily tweaked version of the 5.2 litre V10 in the Gallardo with around 600 bhp, get 4WD just like the regular Gallardo, be based on the same platform as the next Audi R8 and arrive at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.
The Gallardo may never have quite been the match of the Ferrari 458, but it was the car that demonstrated that Lamborghini had a viable future under the umbrella of the Volkswagen Group, with Italian flair finding a comfortable mix with German engineering.
The Cabrera will have to be special to make as significant a mark.
