Lexus LC Convertible debuting at Goodwood Festival of Speed
The Lexus LC Convertible – revealed as a concept in January – is heading for a debut in production guise at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.
It took Lexus years to turn the Lexus LC Concept – only ever designed as a ‘look at what we can do’ concept – in to a production guise, looking just as stunning as the concept. But it’s taking hardly any time at all to turn the LC Convertible Concept – which we saw ahead of the Detroit Motor Show in January – from Concept to Production spec, because it will debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July.
That’s according to CNET’s Roadshow, who say the production version of the LC Convertible will stay faithful to the concept in almost every way.
That said, we don’t know if the LC Convertible will come with a folding metal roof – like the now defunct Lexus SC – or whether it will come with a folding fabric roof instead.
But it will get four seats – although the back seats are more suited to throwing a weekend case on than actually parking real humans – and retain the stunning looks the Convertible inherited from its coupe sibling.
Engine options look likely to be the same too, with either a 5.0 litre V8 or in 500h hybrid guise, and we’d like to think Lexus is still planning a 600bhp LC F.
All will be revealed at Goodwood in the summer.
