When the Maserati Alfieri was revealed at the Geneva Motor SHow in March, we said it was a car Maserati must build. And they are.
The concept Alfieri had underpinnings borrowed fro the GranTurismo, but the production Alfieri will be based on a modified version of the platform that underpins the new Ghibli.
Under the bonnet there will be a 3.0 litre V6 Turbo engine that will offer 404bhp in standard tune, but Maserati are planning to offer both 444bhp and 513bhp versions too, and they will come with four wheel drive.
Maserati has also confirmed there will be a new GranTurismo in 2018 with a 552bhp V8 and rear wheel drive, and the Maserati Levante SUV will launch in 2015 with a pair of twin-turbo V6s with 345bhp and 419bhp, a 552bhp V8 Turbo and a selection of V6 diesel offerings. All will come with 4WD.
All of which should make Maserati’s plan to hit 75,000 annual sales by 2018 almost a given.
