The latest addition to McLaren’s Longtail offerings – the McLaren 600LT Spider – will be revealed on 16 January, ahead of which we get a bit of a tease.
We’ve had the McLaren 675 LT Coupe and Spider, followed at Goodwood last year by the McLaren 600LT Coupe as McLaren use the iconic F1’s ‘Longtail’ badge to add edge (and sales) to their range. And now there’s another Longtail McLaren on the way – the McLaren 600LT Spider.
McLaren has issued a press release confirming the imminent arrival of a new LT model, but were rather coy about telling us exactly what we will see when the reveal happens on 16 January. But then they went and added a video teaser for the new LT (below) which tells us it’s the 600LT Spider. Joined-up PR.
Joined-up PR aside, McLaren tell us that the new 600LT Spider will deliver the LT formula of extra power, lower weight, tweaked aero, and track focused dynamics. McLaren also say the 600LT will only be in production for 12 months.
What we will get in the 600LT will be no surprise, with the 3.8 litre V8 from the 600LT Coupe delivering 592bhp and 475lb/ft of torque for a sub-3 second 0-62mph and the more focused drive the 600LT offers.
Expect prices for the McLaren 600LT Spider to start at around £200k.
