McLaren has revealed that its three UK dealerships – Manchester, London and Birmingham – will be run by Sytner, Jardine and Rybrook respectively.
Last month McLaren trailed a bit of info on the setup of the McLaren dealer network round the world, although it wasn’t naming names at that point. But now it has. The UK’s three dealers will be McLaren London, McLaren Birmingham and McLaren Manchester. Which we could have worked out without Mclaren’s input, but they were a bit more helpful. They’ve let us know who’ll be running which dealers.
McLaren London gets run by Jardine Motors. Jardine Motors is one of the UK’s top ten car retailers, running luxury franchises such as Jaguar, Lamborghini, Ferrari and Porsche – to name but a few. It trades as Lancaster, Scotthall, Appleyard and Abridge amongst others and is part of the Jardine Matheson Group.
McLaren Birmingham gets run by Rybrook. Rybrook is owned by Rybrook Holdings, one of the UK’s largest private companies. Rybrook already runs a significant number of luxury franchises including Bentley, Jaguar, Mercedes and Rolls Royce. Already big in the Midlands and South Wales.
McLaren Manchester falls to Sytner. Sytner – founded in Nottingham in 1968 – now operates almost 100 franchises throughout the UK including prestige marques such as Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini and Jaguar. Sytner considers itself “The UK’s leading retailer of new and used prestige and specialist cars”.
Strong companies to represent McLaren, if a little safe. But at least you know where you’ll need to take your nice shiny McLaren MP4-12C when it needs its service.
