The 2016 Mercedes-AMG C 43 Coupe has been revealed as an ‘almost’ C63, with a 3.0 litre twin-turbo V6 and 0-62mph in 4.7 seconds.
Mercedes continues the roll-out of its ‘almost’ proper AMG models with this, the 2016 Mercedes-AMG C 43 Coupe.Following on from the recent arrival of the SLC 43 – and previewing future ’43’ AMGs across the Mercedes range – the new C43 Coupe comes with a 3.0 litre twin-turbo V6 producing 362bhp, 0-62mph in 4.7 seconds and official economy of 36.2mpg.
The C43 also comes with 4MATIC four-wheel drive – rear-biased and all the better to put the horses down on the road – a nine-speed 9G-TRONIC gearbox and a set-up based broadly on its more powerful C63 sibling.
The C 43 also comes with the usual Comfort, Sport and Sport Plus modes, some nice 18″ alloys and AMG ride control with adaptive dampers.
In terms of looks, the C 43 doesn’t deviate too far from its more powerful sibling, with bigger bumpers, bigger wheel arches, quad exhausts and black mirrors and roof, although it does get the grille from ‘lesser’ models.
Inside is C-Class Coupe good, with Mercedes’ fake leather sports seats with red stitching, red seat belts and a slightly titivated instrument cluster.
Mercedes-AMG boss,Tobias Moers, said:
The extension of the C-Class family to include the new C 43 4MATIC Coupé is another component in our growth strategy. It not only enriches the wide line-up of the C-Class family, but also starts the introduction of a whole series of new ‘43’ models this year.
No prices yet for the new C 43 Coupe, but they’ll no doubt arrive after the Geneva debut next week.
