This year for Christmas we feature Bernie Ecclestone’s personal Christmas card and a selection we’ve received from other car makers.
Just like last year, we’ve chosen to use Bernie Ecclestone‘s personal Christmas card to headline our Yuletide good wishes to you, dear reader. Bernie likes to make an amusing point or two when he commissions his Christmas cards, and this year is no different. Last year saw Bernie dig at Max Mosley and his ‘Recreational’ habits, and this year he picks the story of F1 2009 as its theme.
The yacht shows the departure of teams from F1 this year (looks like BMW’s Mario Theissen & John Howett from Toyota) with the rest of the team bosses waving goodbye from the quayside. Standing up in a small boat alongside we see Flavio Briatore – complete with Jolly Roger flag flying – aiming a rocket launcher at the departing yacht. And sitting gnome-like in the lifeguard’s hut in the background is Bernie himself, complete with life-saver at the ready to rescue survivors.
We also thought we’d throw in a few Christmas Cards that have come our way from everyone from Pagani and Gemballa to Land Rover and Jaguar in the photo gallery at the bottom. This is the one and only story for today. We thought we ought to let everyone have at least one day with their families this year. No one has had a day off in a year!
So Merry Christmas to one and all. Eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow we’re back!
