Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV range-topping 5h and 5hs trims launch
The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV – Mitsubishi’s plug-in SUV – gets new range-topping models with the Outlander PHEV 5h and 5HS.
We already know the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is the top-selling plug-in in the UK, and that Mitsubishi is ahead of the game with WLTP certification for the Outlander PHEV, giving it the edge over many other plug-ins.But with a lot of the PHEV competition sidelined until 2019 to ready them for WLTP certification, Mitsubishi look like they’re aiming to mop up sales which would otherwise have gone to ‘Premium’ competition, with a couple of new range-topping models – the Outlander PHEV 5h and 5hs.
Adding even more goodies to the existing 4h and 4hs trim levels – which already come with stuff like LED headlights, 360 Camera, heated seats, keyless and power tailgate – the 5h and 5hs add to that with new quilted leather – in Claret Red, Porcelain Cream or Gunmetal Grey – as well as Alpine Sound, heated rear seats and LED mood lighting.
Under the bonnet it’s the same as the regular 2019 Outlander PHEV with its new 133bhp 2.4 litre petrol engine mated to an electric motor good for 94bhp and still with grant-qualifying sub-50g/km emissions.
The new Outlander PHEV 5h costs from £41,000 and the Outlander PHEV 5hs from £43,100 (after £2.5k grant) and both are now on sale at Mistubishi’s UK dealers.
