New BMW 7 Series technology highlights on video
The new BMW 7 Series comes with lots of new technology, including automatic forward parking, highlighted on this information video from BMW.
It’s just a few days since BMW revealed the 2016 7 Series, choosing to take a conservative approach to its design, which is much more evolutionary than revolutionary. But the same can’t be said for the technology the new 7 Series offers, which has moved on significantly. So BMW has put together a video (below) to highlight just some of the technology goodies owners of the new 7 Series can expect, including automatic forward parking.
Automatic forward parking uses the BMW display key to activate movement in or out of a tight, forward-facing parking space, be that your garage or a tight spot in a car park. It uses sensors to slowly drive the car in or out, positions it and turns off the engine. No more struggling to squeeze out of the car in your narrow garage or in a car park.
Other technologies highlighted include the gesture control for the infotainment screen – with four pre-defined gestures and a fifth that’s customisable – a new touchscreen that allows you to interact directly with the screen instead of through the iDrive controller, Intelligent voice command that really does seem to understand humans, bigger and better heads-up with new graphics.
There’s also wireless charging for devices, BMW Touch Command – a tablet that controls lots of functions – Sky Lounge which creates coloured light to match the ambient lighting, Ambient air for just the right smell in the cabin and much, much more.
