The new Ferrari Enzo (Ferrari F150 / F70) seems to have been confirmed for a debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. But is it a real Ferrari Instagram account?
Update: As we suspected, the ‘announcement’ on Instagram of the Geneva debut of the F150 was a fake. Ferrari tell us their lawyers are investigating.
The interwebs are full of confirmation from Ferrari that they will be revealing the new Enzo (F150) at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, much as we expected.
The source of the confirmation is a post on Instagram that appears to be by Ferrari, but we wonder how real it is.
The Ferrari account on Instagram is ‘oficialferrari’, which seems an odd name for a Ferrari account. ‘Official’ in Italian is ‘ufficiale’, not oficial (although it is in Spanish). The announcement is accompanied by a teaser photo of the new F150 (above) which looks just like a photo of the Ferrari F70/F150 we had in December.
To add to all that doubt, the text for the announcement is not exactly the best example of a well crafted release from the world’s most successful supercar company. It reads:
Geneva Motor Show I am coming to take your hearts away. The Most Powerful HyperFerrari on its way to take your breath away, a hypercar which can eclipse any competition.
Formula1 technology direct inhereted into this masterpiece, a car which can turn into a cornor as quick as a Formula1 car, a car packed with downforce as a real Formula1 car. #destroythecompetition #forzaferrari
So is it real? Who knows. But, real or not, it’s all but certain the new Ferrari F150 will be at Geneva, as will its nemesis – the new McLaren P1.
