New Ford Focus RS: 1500 UK orders already
[nggallery id=2036 template=customlinks]
The new Ford Focus RS – Ford’s new 345bhp, 4WD super hot hatch – has garnered 1,500 orders from UK buyers before a single test drive has taken place.
The new Ford Focus RS looks to be a properly appealing hot hatch; so appealing that 1,500 UK buyers have put a deposit down before Ford has a single RS for them to test drive. Not only that, but a third of those buyers placed their order before Ford had even announced that the RS will cost from £28,940, and even a fully specced RS won’t be much over £30k.
As we reported when we specced up the new Focus RS to the max – using Ford’s on-line Focus RS configurator – the options for the RS are affordable, and we managed to shell out under £34k by ticking all the options.
But getting a Focus RS that has the bells and whistles you really want – Luxury Pack, 19″ Black Alloys, painted callipers, Premium SYNC2 – pushes the price not much over £30k which, when you consider you can pay almost that for a late model of the last Focus RS, and even more for an RS 500, makes the new Focus RS a real bargain.
We have a sneaky suspicion Ford’s Focus RS order book is going to grow and grow.
