New Jaguar XE: Marginal Gains with Sir David Brailsford
The new Jaguar XE will start appearing on our roads before long, and its importance to Jaguar – as they seek to emulate the big sales growth experienced by Land Rover – can’t be underestimated.
They’re off to a good start with the new XE’s residual value – so important when buying a car on lease of PCP – as good – or better – than the German brands, and, although a bit derivative, the XE looks like a Jaguar and offers lots of promise for performance an economy with it new range of Ingenium engines.
But winning hearts and minds is an on-going process, so Jaguar are producing a series of short videos explaining just why the XE is so good, this one featuring Team Sky’s cycling guru, Sir David Brailsford.
David Brailsford is the man responsible for turning Team GB’s cyclists from good to world beating – something Jaguar wants to emulate – and managed to do that not by wholesale change but by examining every little detail and finding Marginal Gains in every area, gains that turned a good team in to a world-beating team when put together.

It’s actually a smart pitch from Jaguar for the XE; they’re not claiming to have reinvented the compact premium car, but are focusing on all the small improvements – the Marginal Gains – they’ve made that, in total, make the new XE a cut above the competition.
