New Lexus UX SUV UK prices and specs

The new Lexus UX 250h Compact SUV is to be launched in the UK in March 2019 with a single hybrid engine option and three trim levels. Costs from £29,900.

The new Lexus UX, which got its public debut at Geneva in the spring, will officially launch in the UK in March 2019, and will be available with a single UX 250h hybrid powertrain and a choice of three trim levels – UX, F Sport and Takumi – and with prices starting from £29,900.

But despite a single hybrid option, you will be able to opt for the Lexus E-Four 4WD setup, as well as regular FWD, which adds an electric motor to the back axle to provide some extra grip when you need it. If you do want 4WD you’ll need to pick the range-topping UX Takumi, or opt for the UX or F Sport in conjunction with the Takumi Pack or Premium Plus Pack.

The entry-level UX comes with Lexus Safety System+, Lexus Nav, Climate and 17″ alloys, and the F Sport (probably the pick) comes with the F Sport body enhancements, including spindle grille, F Sport seats in fabric and Tahara, privacy glass, heated electric front seats, heated steering wheel and 18″ F Sport alloys. The UX 250h F Sport costs from £33,900.

At £39,100 the UX Takumi gets a bigger spec still including smooth leather, fronts eat ventilation, Mark Levinson Sound, 10″ Multimedia, 360 camera, HUD, sunroof, Blind Spot and Cross Traffic.

But there are a number of ‘Packs’ on offer too for the UX and F Sport, with Premium Pack adding 18″ alloys, parking sensors, Privacy, heated front seats and steering wheel, with the Premium Plus Pack adding smooth leather, ‘washi’ trim, keyless, power tailgate and, if added to the F Sport, 10″ Multimedia and power adjustable steering wheel.

The Tech and Safety Pack does what it says on the tin with Blind Spot, Cross Traffic, LED headlights, HUD and wireless phone charging and, if you add it to F Sport Adaptive Suspension.

You can also add a Tech and Sound Pack to the US with Mark Levinson Sound, wireless charging and power front seats and steering wheel. Finally, the Takumi Pack for the F Sport throws in everything from the Premium Plus and Safety Packs plus front seat ventilation, Mark Levinson Sound and 360 Camera.

Which, by the time you’ve ticked all the appealing boxes, will shove up the price of the UX you really want quite a bit.
