The first model from Polestar – now a standalone Volvo brand – will be revealed next week, so Polestar start the video tease to keep interest bubbling.
Just last week, Polestar started the count down to the reveal of its first standalone car with a series of images on Instagram which, eventually, would add up to the rear view of their new car.
Now, with just four days to go until the new Polestar is revealed, Polestar are back with a video tease for their first offering.
Frankly, the imagery in the video tells us little about the new Polestar, but it does tell us, quite clearly, what it’s not.
In an eventual play on words, Polestar tell us what their new car is not: No Overpromising, No influencers, No shortcuts, No illusions, No committees and, finally, No Bullshit. It ends with ‘No. 1’. It’s a pretty clear statement of intent.
We expect Polestar’s new car to be a production take on the impressive Volvo Coupe Concept (below), and with a very performance focussed plug-in hybrid powertrain.
We know Polestar could push the basic setup from the Volvo T8 Twin Engine up to 600bhp, although whether it will be quite that much remains to be seen.
If they do, it will be mighty quick, but even a 500bhp Polestar Coupe will still be more than a little interesting.
Expect a tease or two more before Polestar’s first car gets revealed next week.
