New Vauxhall Corsa ICE models revealed
Vauxhall reveals the petrol and diesel versions of the new Corsa a month after they revealed details of the electric Corsa after it leaked online.
It seems likely that today is the day Vauxhall always planned to reveal the new Corsa – coincidentally, we’re sure, at the same time as Ford reveals the new Puma – but plans changed. They changed because the internet did its job and leaked official photos of the electric Corsa before Vauxhall were ready to do things officially, so a day later Vauxhall did an official reveal of the new electric Corsa.
Now, a month on, we get the official reveal of the new Corsa with ICE under the bonnet, but with the electric Corsa designed to be more a powertrain option than an electric statement, there’s not a lot that’s new to reveal.
Under the bonnet of the ICE Corsa’s sits a naturally-aspirated 75bhp 1.2 litre petrol, a turbo 1.2 litre petrol with 99bhp or a 1.5 litre diesel with 100bhp.
About the only visual difference between the IE Corsas and the Corsa EV is different wheel design, and inside it’s the same too, with a new infotainment screen in the middle with a 7″ Multimedia Navi or 10″ Multimedia Navi Pro if you’re spending more.
It’s a car that’s based on the same CMP Platform as the Peugeot 208, and Vauxhall have done a good job of delivering a good looking and appealing little runaraound. It won’t arrive in the UK until spring 2020, and the EV version will follow a few months later.
