Bentley Bentayga SUV interior teased on video
The new Bentley Bentayga SUV – Bentley’s challenger for the Range Rover – is getting closer to production reveal with this video tease of the interior.
We discovered back in January that the Bentley challenge in the luxury SUV market – aiming to take the Range Rover’s crown as the undisputed heavyweight champion – would be called the Bentley Bentayga, and not the Bentley Falcon as we’d long thought (and which, for what its worth, we think is a better moniker). So Bentayga it is, and we’ve had video of it out playing in sand dunes in disguise when the name was revealed, and Bentley let us have a single shot of the Bentayga’s nose emerging from the dunes – undisguised – so we know it will look like an SUV take on the GT Series, rather than the Mulsanne. Which is an improvement on the EXP 9 F Concept that looked a bit like a lorry..
Now, with a likely debut for the SUV at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show in the Autumn, Bentley are starting to get a bit more specific with what’s on offer with this, a video showing quite a bit more of the interior of the Bentayga than we’d have expected in a tease.
We get a good look at the Bentayga’s main instruments – a pair of circular dials with a central screen, which is shown displaying both night vision and Sat Nav – a view of a heads-up display and a look at the beautifully finished centre console with cupholders, gear stick and a rotary dial that has a touch sensitive top for stop-start, and rotary function for Bentley’s take on Land Rover’s Terrain Response.
With underpinning based on those that underpin the latest Audi Q7 and a W12 powertrain at launch, with V8 petrol and diesel to come as well as a hybrid, the Bentayga is stacking up to be more than a little interesting.
But will it usurp the Range Rover?
