The new VW Tiguan SUV – revealed at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show – goes on sale in the UK at prices that will start at £22,500.
The new Volkswagen Tiguan was finally updated and revealed to the world at last year’s Frankfurt Motor Show, and it’s now on sale in the UK costing from £22,500 for the entry-level model. That entry-level model won’t actually go on sale until next month – which we expect to be a Tiguan S with the 1.4 TSI petrol engine – so for now the range starts at £25,530 for the Tiguan S with FWD and the 2.0 litre TDI diesel delivering 148bhp and 0-62mph in 9.3 seconds.
This first wave of Tiguan offerings only delivers the 148bhp 2.0 litre diesel and 178bhp 2.0 litre TSI, although one the new Tiguan is fully rolled out there will be a choice of three petrols and four diesels.
Four trim levels are available – S, SE, SEL and R-Line – with 4MOTION and DSG auto gearbox available at all levels, with the cheapest 4MOTION S costing £27,130 and the most expensive – the Tiguan R-Line with the 2.0 TDI, 4MOTION and DSG costing £35,095.
VW hasn’t revealed specifics on the trim specs, but every Tiguan will come equipped with Lane Assist, Auto Braking, Front Assist, Pedestrian Monitoring and an active bonnet.
The new VW Tiguan is now on sale at Volkswagen’s UK dealers, with first customer cars expected in the summer.
