The Rolls-Royce Phantom Limelight Collection is a limited run of just 25 Phantoms with luxury upgrades aimed at the busy ultra wealthy customers Rolls Royce covets.
Maybe Rolls Royce is trying that bit harder because Mercedes is rolling out Maybach versions of its new S-Class, and even Volvo is showing they have the ability to create a properly luxurious option for the new XC90 to transport the wealthy and ‘important’. Or, more likely, they’re proving nobody does it better than Rolls Royce. When the starting point for the Phantom Limelight Collection is the almost perfect luxury car, it’s tough to know where to go. But Rolls Royce seem to have managed it with this short run (just 25 cars) of the Limelight Collection for the Phantom.
RR are aiming the car at owners who spend their lives moving from engagement engagement, who need to arrive relaxed and refreshed, often adding the final, or appropriate, touches to their appearance en-route to the next event.
So the Phantom Limelight comes with a his and hers panniers in the door, customised to the needs of the buyer but in all likelihood offering storage compartments for jewellery, watches, perfume and after-shave, because no one wants to wear their sports watch and daytime smellies for a black tie event.
Rolls Royce has also engaged the services of the medical profession to work with their engineers and ergonomists to create the optimum seating in the back of the Phantom.
The seat back recline by a recommended 27 degrees so the head can rest on the headrest, a new calf rest raises by 68 degrees to support the calf and a foot rest emerges at 30 degrees to support the feet, all of which combined is the perfect relaxed posture whilst in motion.
Cosmetically, the Phantom Limelight gets a Gala Blue paint job with a diamond-shape coachline and nine-spoke alloys, with the interior either in a Light Contrast scheme of Seashell with Navy Blue Contrast Leather and Seashell tone-on-tone stitching and a Dark Contrast scheme the reverse.
Both interior options come a two-veneer finish with Piano Seashell on the door cappings and Smoked Chestnut finishes elsewhere. There’s also a Bespoke Limelight clock echoing the Gala Blue paint job and diamond motif. It’s all beautifully done.
Pretenders take note.

Who in their right mind would buy an S Class Maybach when they can have this?
