Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost Collection Limited Edition pays homage to the original Silver Ghost

The Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost Collection is a limited run of 35 cars built to pay homage to the original Silver Ghost and its achievements.

Whether Rolls-Royce still builds the best cars in the world is, of course, debatable, but the ‘Best car in the world’ tag has been attached to RR’s cars for more than 100 years, ever since the original Silver Ghost – dubbed so because of its silver paint and quiet running – achieved a non-stop endurance run of almost 15,000 miles at the start of the last century.

Now Rolls-Royce are paying homage to the original Silver Ghost with a limited run run of 35 special Ghost models, dubbed ‘The Silver Ghost Collection”.

The Silver Ghost cars get a solid silver Spirit of Ecstasy complete with an ‘AX201’ (the number plate of the original Silver Ghost) and ‘RR’ hallmark, with a black gold-plated collar and copper insert.

The paint job is Cassiopeia Silver, a bespoke paint creation to evoke the original, with hand-painted coachline containing fine particles of pure silver, black painted grille veins and polished wheel centres proclaiming “SILVER GHOST – SINCE 1907”.

Inside is swathed in Forest Green leather, a nod to the original car’s interior, silver-tipped leather on the door panniers, silver onlay on the wood, solid silver ingot declaring the cars’ heritage, a silver ingot clock, unique treadplates, bespoke centre console, and even silver binding for the umbrellas and a Silver Ghost Hamper.

As is their wont, Rolls-Royce hasn’t released pricing for the Silver Ghost Collection cars, but rest assured it’ll be more than the regular Ghost’s £233k starting point.
