The SsangYong Tivoli – a new compact B-segment SUV from SsangYong – was revealed at the end of 2014, and it now arrives in the UK from a very reasonable £12,950 to try and take a piece of the Nissan Juke’s action.
At just under £13k, the Tivoli manages to undercut the starting point of the Juke by more than £600, and despite its low price the spec on offer isn’t too shoddy.
The Tivoli SE is what you get for your £12,950, and that includes the 1.6 litre petrol engine with 126bhp, six-speed manual gearbox, cloth trim, 16″ alloys, Cruise, Bluetooth. Stop Start and Smart Steering. If you want the the 1.6 litre diesel with 113bhp you’ll need to stump up £14,200.

Ssangyong Tivoli Interior looks more than half decent
The Tivoli EX adds in leather seats (heated in the front), 18″ alloys, Climate, rear view camera, 7″ Touchscreen and fogs, with the petrol version costing £14,600, the diesel £15,850, an auto box (on the petrol only) another £1k. You can also have the EX with 4WD, but only with a manual gearbox and diesel engine. It’ll cost you £17,100.
Opt for the ELX model and you can have auto or manual versions of the petrol or diesel as well as 4WD versions of the diesel-engined Tivoli with manual or auto, with prices from £16,000 for the ELX petrol manual to £19,500 for the ELX diesel 4×4 auto. Extra goodies include better 18″ alloys, Keyless, parking sensors, privacy glass, auto lights, Sat Nav and a spoiler.
SsangYong are also hoping to prise a few bob more out of buyers’ pockets with a customisation range – catchily called ‘My Tivoli’ – offering stuff like a Styling Pack with two-tone paint jobs, Red Leather Pack and extra colours.
The Tivoli is now on sale at SsangYong’s UK dealers, with first customer cars expected in the summer.
