The Tesla Model X SUV has officially gone on sale in the UK, with prices from £71,900 for the entry-level X 75D to £108,000 for the P90D Ludicrous.
We’re not entirely sure that Tesla will actually be delivering right-hand drive Model X cars by the end of 2016 (that’s the promise) but you can now officially order your new Tesla SUV, spec it up on Tesla’s website and look forward, hopefully, to a Christmas break playing with Falcon doors.Starting point for the Model X is the 75D – costing from £71,900 – which comes complete with a 75kWh battery, a range of 259 miles and a 0-60mph of 6.0 seconds. Not at all shoddy for a big SUV.
But if you want a bit more get up and go you could opt for the Model X 90D – which will cost you £82,400 – with its 90kWh battery pack, a range of 303 miles and 0-60mph of 4.8 seconds, or even the P90D with its bigger second motor and a 0-60mph of 3.8 seconds. That’ll cost you £99,800.
But if that’s still not enough, you can bolt on Tesla’s ‘Ludicrous Speed Upgrade’ to the P90D which, say Tesla, ‘unlocks more power and acceleration’, lets your Model X hit 60mph in 3.2 seconds and pushes the price of the P90D up to £108,000.
The spec for the Model X isn’t exactly paltry, but you can spend a chunk more if you want (and probably will) including a seven-seat option at £3,400 (and a six-seat at £2,550), Autopilot for £2,200, a Premium Upgrades Package for £3,900 which adds stuff like auto doors, HEPA filters, extra leather and LED ambient lighting, upgraded sound for £2,200 and a High Amp charger for £1,300.
You can now go and play with the Model X configurator on Tesla’s website, and place your order.
